The sensible reason to pay is a particular conversation control you will use, not the assumption that unlimited chat includes unlimited media or flawless memory. What Dippy offers before you pay
The public discovery page organizes characters into categories such as Adventure, Fantasy and Romance, alongside trending and editor selections. It also exposes a Create entry. Its account prompt says logging in keeps chats saved. Those visible routes establish discovery and creation options; they do not prove a particular character’s response quality.
Treat the character description as the beginning of your selection. Decide whether you want a recurring conversation, a clearly framed fictional scene or a quick change of setting. A high displayed interaction count does not establish whether the character suits the tone you want.
Super: the offer we could actually inspect
Dippy’s Super panel displayed US$12.99 monthly or US$119.99 annually, with an approximately US$10 monthly equivalent for annual billing. The inspected panel showed 200 Dippy coins for media and experimental features. It advertised unlimited chat, memory-related controls, response-length controls, Rethink and an ad-free experience. We stopped before payment; these are displayed offer details, not a verified account invoice or renewal quote.

This arithmetic assumes unchanged monthly pricing and excludes taxes or account-specific offers. It makes the commitment visible: an annual purchase only becomes cheaper in this example if you would otherwise keep paying long enough. It does not establish refund rights or mean you can cancel an annual purchase after three months and recover the balance.

For media, the missing number is the charge for the operation you choose. A balance of 200 coins alone cannot tell you how many usable outputs you will keep. Avoid comparing Dippy’s coin count with another service’s currency as if the units were interchangeable. Compare the task, its visible charge and the outcome instead.
For conversation, name the change you want. “Keep replies to a few sentences and leave my character’s decisions to me” is a clearer requirement than “make the AI better.” That gives response controls a purpose.
The free-access wording needs a date
Dippy’s linked terms are dated July 8, 2024. They describe a then-complimentary membership while reserving fee changes; that older passage should not override today’s paid Super panel. The terms also say conversation material may be used in de-identified or aggregated form to improve services. A saved conversation is not the same as a local-only conversation.
