Is SpicyChat safe? Yes, with caveats. SpicyChat is a legitimate platform run by NextDay AI Incorporated of Montreal, and it is 18+ by its own rules. The caveats: it stores your chats, its terms say messages are not confidential and grant it broad rights to use them, its privacy policy dates from May 2023, and the only mobile app is an Android APK from its own site.

What SpicyChat collects and stores
SpicyChat’s privacy policy is dated May 4, 2023. It lists your email address, name and usage data: IP address, browser, pages visited, time spent and device identifiers. If you sign up with Google, Discord, Twitter or LinkedIn, it may collect the name and email tied to that account. It uses cookies and web beacons.
Per the policy, it may use your data for marketing and to “evaluate and improve our Service”, and may share it with service providers, affiliates, business partners and a buyer in a sale of the company. The privacy policy does not mention chats, and neither document says whether chats are used to train AI models.
Who can read your chats
The terms (updated July 23, 2026) say internal policy bars staff from “unauthorized access to users’ personal information and chats”, and staff sign a data protection agreement. A clause titled “Electronic Communications Not Private” says the service does not provide “confidential electronic communications” and that “users or operators of the Service may read all messages You send to the Service.”
These documents don’t fully agree. The docs say character creators can’t see your chats; the terms promise no confidentiality and limit staff access by internal policy rather than ruling it out. Per the docs, moderators can see private characters.
The terms also grant SpicyChat a perpetual, sublicensable license to copy, sell and distribute your chats and generations. That is policy language, not evidence of what happens to any particular chat. Keep real names, addresses and workplaces out of it.
Deleting your chats and account
- One chat: find it in your saved chats and press Delete.
- Your account: Profile, scroll to Advanced, Delete Account. Deletion is permanent, though you can sign up again with the same email.
- Retained data: the terms let you request deletion of personal data and chat history, subject to legal retention obligations. Email [email protected].
Its paid bug bounty names chat history, private characters and payments as priority areas; that is a reporting channel, not an audit result. Have I Been Pwned listed no SpicyChat breach as of September 27, 2026, but HIBP says its data is incomplete, and the privacy policy says it “cannot guarantee” absolute security.
Payments, prices and refunds
SpicyChat raised prices on September 8, 2026. New subscribers now pay (USD; euro prices match):

The published plans are subscriptions, with no credits or coins listed. What to know before you pay:
- No free trial. Its help center suggests the free avatar generator as a preview.
- Old prices are locked, with conditions. A pre-September 8 subscription keeps its price while active and unchanged. Any plan change, or a lapse after failed payments, moves you to current pricing.
- Cancelling: for website subscriptions, Profile, Manage Subscription; if you paid through another provider, cancel there. Access runs to the end of the paid period, then drops to free. Reactivate before then to keep your old price.
- Payment methods: Visa, Mastercard or Discover cards through third-party processors (activates almost immediately, per its help center), Pay by Bank and crypto (both one-time), regional methods shown at checkout, or Google Play through PixelChat, its SFW companion app. One-time payments are automated but can time out; support then sends them to the processor for manual approval. Subscriptions bought through PixelChat, its SFW Google Play app, also apply to SpicyChat.
- Refunds: a separate refund policy (dated July 31, 2024) says fees are non-refundable once your login has been used, with no refunds or credits for partial months. It excludes crypto and Boosty, and providers such as Apple handle their own refunds. An approved refund goes back to the original payment method within ten days of contact with its client relations team. Billing disputes go to [email protected].
In Trustpilot reviews from early 2026, before the price rise, common complaints were about value: features locked behind the paywall, memory that forgets, and slow replies. A few object to the face or ID scan required for age checks.
Age rules and verification
SpicyChat’s Community Guidelines require every user to be at least 18 and every character to be portrayed as over 18. Elsewhere, its docs describe no separate check. If you connect from France, the UK, Italy, Australia or one of 26 US states, you must pass an age check before NSFW content unlocks: a video selfie, with an ID check as fallback (some regions use ID with face match only).
- Third-party partners run the check. SpicyChat says it gets only a yes or no, never your images or documents.
- Your IP location decides whether you’re asked; verification is tied to your account.
- Skip it and you can still use the site, without NSFW content.
Moderation, as SpicyChat describes it
Per its guidelines, characters that break the rules are “removed without notice”, and there is a Report Content link. SFW or NSFW labels are assigned automatically; its FAQ says SFW characters can still go NSFW in chat. To avoid explicit bots or images, turn off the NSFW display toggle or switch on image blurring in Profile Settings.
Its terms and guidelines prohibit sexual content involving anyone under 18, non-consensual scenarios, incest and family role-play, realistic images of real people and photorealistic explicit images. Neither document says how private chats are screened.
Apps, the official site and lookalikes
The official site is spicychat.ai. Apple removed the iOS app from the App Store in August 2025, saying it did not comply with its guidelines, and older installs are no longer updated. On iPhone, SpicyChat’s own advice is to add the website to your home screen.
On Android, the official app is an APK from spicychat.ai/download, not Google Play; the company’s Play app is PixelChat, its SFW version. Android may show a warning for apps installed outside the Play Store, the official APK included, so be strict about where you get it.
- Only log in at spicychat.ai, typed or bookmarked, not through ads or similar-looking links.
- Download the APK only from spicychat.ai/download, never a mirror or a file shared in a chat.
- If you entered your password on another site, change it, plus any Google or Discord account you sign in with.
