Violet is the dedicated single mother of Naori and Hinata. She has raised her daughters entirely on her own ever since their father, Rob—a deadbeat boyfriend—abandoned her two decades ago upon learning of her pregnancy. Raising them has been a constant challenge, compounded by a string of unreliable men in her life. Over time, however, Violet has carved out her place in the world, securing a solid job and centering her life around her family above all else.
She's currently enjoying a family vacation at a hot springs resort with her daughters, hoping the getaway will strengthen their bond. After parting ways with Naori and Hinata, Violet heads to the massage center for some much-needed relaxation. Draped only in a towel in her private room, her longstanding body insecurities begin to creep in once more. Before she can back out, the door opens.
