Short answer for this Candy Shorts review: Candy Shorts is a library of short, AI-generated video series inside Candy AI, and it is worth a look if you already pay for Candy, but it is a thin reason to subscribe on its own. The first two episodes of every series are free to watch; everything after that needs Premium and, per the episode pages, a token price of 12 tokens on most series.
Cherrypop.ai publishes this, and we make a competing AI companion app. Based on each vendor’s pricing and help pages and published user reports, as of September 2026. Candy’s catalog and prices can change, so check the live pages before you pay.

What is Candy Shorts?
Candy Shorts is not a separate company or a new chat app. It is a video section of Candy AI, the AI girlfriend platform run by EverAI Limited. Candy’s help center describes Shorts as “short, AI-generated cinematic videos featuring Candy.ai characters in scripted scenarios”, built so you can watch a story “without roleplaying through a full chat”.
You will see it spelled three ways: Candy Shorts, CandyShorts and Candy AI Shorts. They are the same product. It lives in Candy’s left-hand menu as “Shorts”, and EverAI also runs it as a standalone site at candyshorts.com. That site’s terms name EverAI as the operator and say purchases are processed through Candy.ai, so it is the same catalog and the same account, not a rival service.
According to the help center, Shorts episodes:
- are pre-written scenes with a beginning, middle and end,
- run under two minutes each,
- show different characters, themes and visual styles,
- are separate from your chats, so watching one does not change your relationship or chat history with that character.
That last point matters. Shorts is lean-back viewing. You do not steer the story, and nothing you watch carries into a conversation. It is closer to a mini-drama streaming app than to AI roleplay.
How Candy Shorts works
The Shorts page is a grid of vertical posters with a row of genre filters. Posters carry badges such as “New Episodes” when a series has been extended, and the more explicit series sit behind a “Spicy” label that asks you to sign up before they play.
Open a series and you get a player, a one-paragraph premise and a numbered episode list. A typical premise reads like a short-form drama pitch: one series is a fantasy court drama, and “I Picked Up a Hitchhiker” is a road-trip setup about a stranded traveller and an ordinary guy in a beat-up pickup. The opening episodes on the series pages run from under a minute to just under two minutes.
Most series are short. Of the 117 series listed on September 27, 2026, the large majority had five episodes, and a handful ran longer, up to 34 episodes on the longest one. Candy’s help center says new episodes arrive “on a regular basis” but that it does not give release dates, so you cannot count on a series being finished or extended on any schedule.
Is Candy Shorts free?
Partly. The first two episodes of every series are free, with no subscription. You can browse the grid without an account; the “Spicy” series need a free account before they play.
From episode 3 on, each episode is locked. Two things show on a locked episode:
- A Premium gate. The upgrade panel says a subscription gets you “Unlock all premium episodes” and “Watch in HD anytime, anywhere”.
- A token price. Each locked episode lists a cost of 12 tokens on most series and 30 tokens on a few, with an “Unlock Episode” button promising “Yours forever. No ads, no waiting.”
Candy’s help center does not spell out whether a Premium subscriber pays those tokens on top of the subscription, and third-party reviews disagree: two say each unlock draws on your token balance, one says Premium alone opens the episodes. Budget for both until you can see it on your own account. For what a free Candy account gets outside Shorts (5 chat messages, one custom character and one image), see is Candy AI free.
Candy Shorts pricing and the token math
There is no Shorts-only plan. Shorts comes with the same Candy Premium subscription that covers chat and image generation. As of September 2026, Candy’s subscription page lists:
- 1 month: $13.99
- 3 months: $8.99 a month
- 12 months: $3.99 a month, billed $47.88 upfront
Every term includes the same Premium benefits, among them 100 tokens a month. Candy’s help center says yearly subscribers still get their 100 tokens monthly, not all at once. A newer Premium Plus tier includes 330 tokens a month plus memory slots, personas and cloned chats, but its price is not shown on the logged-out pricing page.
If Premium users do pay the listed prices, here is what 100 tokens buys:
- A standard five-episode series has 3 locked episodes, so finishing it costs 36 tokens.
- One of the 30-token series costs 90 tokens to finish, most of a month’s allowance.
- 100 tokens covers 8 standard locked episodes, which is two full series with a few tokens left.
- The longest series, at 34 episodes, would take 384 tokens to finish.
Tokens are shared with everything else on Candy: images, turning images into video, voice messages, voice calls and private content packs. Spend them on Shorts and you have less for the rest. Candy’s referral page values 200 tokens at $20, or 10 cents a token. At that rate, which is our estimate rather than a Candy price, a 12-token episode is worth about $1.20.
One catch on leftovers. Candy’s Terms of Service (revised September 22, 2026) say remaining tokens “will expire and become unusable” when your subscription ends. A help-center article dated August 25, 2026 says the opposite: tokens stay on your account and work again when you resubscribe. The terms are the newer document, so do not bank on a balance surviving a cancellation.
Is Candy Shorts legit and safe?
Candy Shorts is a real product from an identifiable company. EverAI Limited is registered in Malta, its card charges show as “EverAI”, and the standalone Shorts site names the same company in its terms. Some practical points:
- Check the address. Only candy.ai and candyshorts.com are run by EverAI. Similarly named “Candy Shorts” sites are independent guides, and paying happens on candy.ai, so do not enter card details anywhere else.
- Refunds are narrow. The Shorts site’s terms say streaming purchases are “generally non-refundable”, with a possible refund within 24 hours only if you have not streamed anything, and only on card payments. Candy’s own subscription rule is also 24 hours, no more than 20 tokens used and card payments only. Its terms give EU and UK residents a 14-day right to withdraw from the first purchase, less a prorated amount for what they used.
- Cancelling is under My Profile, then Settings, then Unsubscribe. Premium stays active until the end of the paid period.
- Privacy. Per its privacy policy, Candy may use your interactions to train its AI and moderation models, and preparing that data may include human review of de-identified conversations.
On content, Candy’s Blocked Content Policy (revised July 30, 2026) prohibits content resembling minors, impersonation of real people, deepfakes and non-consensual intimate imagery, and says flagged content may be reviewed by people. That is the policy as written.
Candy Shorts pros and cons
Pros
- Two free episodes of every series, no card needed.
- A large catalog (117 series in late September 2026) that keeps getting new episodes.
- Short, finished scenes you can watch in a minute or two, with no prompting.
- No extra subscription: the same Premium covers chat and images too, and the yearly plan is cheap at $47.88.
- Many series star Candy characters you can also chat with.
Cons
- Most series are only five episodes, and three of them are locked.
- Locked episodes list a token price; if it is charged, the 100 monthly tokens cover about 8 episodes and nothing else.
- Candy does not clearly explain whether Premium alone unlocks episodes or whether you also pay tokens.
- You cannot influence the story, and episodes do not feed into your chats.
- No release schedule, and a refund window that closes after 24 hours.
Who Candy Shorts is for, and who should skip it
It suits you if you already pay for Candy and want something to watch between chats, you like short episodic drama more than writing prompts, or you want a quick way to find a character before you start talking to her.
Skip it if you want to direct the story yourself, you want long-form series, or your main reason to subscribe would be Shorts alone. Two free episodes per series already show you the format and quality, so watch a few before you pay.
Alternatives to Candy Shorts
Candy’s own interactive formats. If you like the Candy characters but want a say in what happens, Candy has three options on the same subscription. Interactive Stories lets you make choices as an episode plays and chat with the character along the way. Live Action is a Premium, token-gated video mode on selected characters, currently mobile-only per the help center, where you pick actions from a menu. Build Your Video lets you pick a character, action and location from presets and generate a clip.
OurDream AI. OurDream does not sell pre-made series; you generate your own video instead. Its help center prices standard video at 100 dreamcoins per 5 seconds, up to 60 seconds, and its standard plan is $19.99 a month or $119.88 a year with 1,000 dreamcoins a month. It costs more per month than Candy, and you make the clips yourself rather than watching a finished series. Our Candy AI vs OurDream AI comparison covers the full trade-off.
Cherrypop.ai. If you want to be in the story rather than watch it, Cherrypop.ai is built around uncensored AI chat and roleplay with a large catalog of ready-made characters (female, male and trans, in realistic and anime styles), and you can create your own character with its creation wizard. You can generate images of your character, NSFW included. It is free to start, with limits, and paid plans unlock more messages, images and features. It runs in the browser, including on your phone, with no app to install. It does not offer a pre-made video series library like Shorts.
Candy Shorts FAQ
Is Candy Shorts a separate app from Candy AI?
No. It is a section of Candy AI, also available at candyshorts.com, which EverAI runs with the same account and payments through Candy.ai.
Can I watch Candy Shorts for free?
Yes, the first two episodes of every series. The more explicit series need a free account. Episode 3 onward needs Premium and lists a token price.
How long is a Candy Shorts episode?
Under two minutes, according to Candy’s help center. Most series have five episodes.
Do Candy Shorts affect my chats?
No. Candy says Shorts are separate from your conversations and do not change your relationship or chat history with a character.
Is Candy Shorts worth it?
As an add-on to a Candy subscription you already use, yes, within the 100-token budget. As the only reason to subscribe, probably not: most series are five short episodes, and if episodes cost tokens, the monthly allowance runs out fast. Our Candy AI review covers the rest of the platform.
Can I get a refund for Candy Shorts?
Only in a narrow window. The Shorts terms allow a discretionary refund within 24 hours if you have not streamed anything, on card payments only. Candy.ai subscriptions follow a similar 24-hour rule, and EU and UK residents get 14 days on their first purchase.
Candy Shorts review: the verdict
Candy Shorts is a polished, easy-to-watch video library, and the two free episodes per series are a fair preview. The paywall is where it gets expensive: locked episodes need Premium and list a token price, and if that price is charged, a month’s included tokens cover roughly two short series. Watch the free episodes, decide whether any series is worth finishing, and only then pay. If what you really want is a story that answers back, a chat-first companion is the better fit.
