Venice AI: Model Choice, Credits and Privacy Modes

Venice AI makes most sense when you want several model types in one workspace. Before subscribing, separate three decisions: whether you can access the model you want, how its operations consume credits, and which privacy mode that model uses. The subscription name alone does not answer all three. If your main goal is an original character with chat and visuals, Cherrypop does that job better.

Our top pick: Cherrypop.ai. The best Venice AI alternative for character chat and visuals, with uncensored roleplay, a big catalog of realistic and anime characters, and AI images of your own character, including NSFW. Try Cherrypop free →

Venice AI access and credits are separate

As of October 2026, the monthly pricing page lists Free, Pro at $18, Pro Plus at $68 and Max at $200. Their recurring monthly credit allocations are 0, 100, 7,500 and 22,500 respectively. It describes video, music, frontier models and API use as credit-consuming operations.

Pro’s advertised text allowance does not mean unlimited video. Plus and Max add larger budgets and longer credit banking: two and three months respectively. Venice values 100 credits at $1 for usage accounting; that is not a cash refund or a promise that a particular generation costs $1. Check the selected operation’s quote and the renewal total before paying.

Estimate the cost of clips you actually keep

Use this simple calculation for any credit-based tool: total credits spent on completed attempts divided by clips you choose to keep. Count completed outputs you discard as well as the successful ones. This measures usefulness for your task, not just the price of pressing Generate.

The numbers above are illustrative. They show why an operation price and a production budget are different. If you require three usable clips, assuming exactly three attempts may understate the budget. Check the billing rules for failed or refused jobs separately.

Write a short acceptance rule before generating. For an original animated travel host, it might be: recognizable outfit, one clear movement, no distracting background change, and a usable beginning and ending. An attractive frame is not enough if the clip cannot connect to the next shot. Record the selected model and settings alongside the output so later comparisons mean something.

Choose the privacy mode for the selected model

Venice’s privacy overview describes four modes. It says that Anonymous mode obscures identity but the outside provider may retain content; Private mode relies on Venice-controlled infrastructure or retention commitments from partners; TEE adds hardware-isolated processing; and E2EE adds encryption from the device to an attested environment.

The same page says E2EE does not include web search or memory and can be slower. That is a meaningful functional tradeoff. Do not interpret a privacy label on one model as applying to every model or every feature in the workspace. Read the selected model’s mode before sending information that matters to you.

The privacy policy remains the place to review account and service-data handling. A statement about inference or conversation storage does not, by itself, mean the service collects no account or payment information.

Match the workspace to the job

Your main taskDecision criterion
Compare several model familiesAvailability and behavior of the particular models you need
Make a repeatable set of short clipsCost per usable result and control over the required inputs
Maintain one original character conceptHow clearly the product lets you define the character and move between tasks
Use a specific privacy modeWhether the chosen model and required features support that mode

A broad tool can be attractive for experimenting, but model variety does not establish that any one model suits your project. Start with one representative task. Decide what a usable result looks like, choose the relevant model, and record the operation cost before trying a second configuration. Buying a larger plan before identifying the constraint can leave the underlying problem unchanged.

Why Cherrypop is the better pick for characters

When the character is the center of the project, Cherrypop is our pick. Define appearance and personality in Create, set a Scenario and First Message, then chat uncensored and generate images and videos of the same character in one place. No model shopping, no credit maths per model.

For an original travel host, define a 35-year-old presenter with a consistent outfit and a concise, observant manner. Give the opening a concrete task, such as describing the first stop on an imaginary rail journey. When the visual concept is ready, use Cherrypop’s video workspace and turn your host into a short clip.

Cherrypop is free to start and runs in any mobile browser with no app. Venice suits people who want raw model breadth or an API; for building a character you actually want to talk to, start in Cherrypop.
